Just Announced: $2,500 in Scholarship Awards from the Mid Atlantic Equitation Festival

Riders know training and competition requires discipline, hard work, planning, and financial resources. Jump Start Solutions LLC is excited to share the announcement of two 2014 scholarship awards from the Mid Atlantic Equitation Festival (MAEF), open to all equestrian enthusiasts from any and all disciplines: 4-H, Pony Club, IEA, IHSA, dressage, eventing, western and breed enthusiasts. Thanks to the Maryland Horse Industry Board, for their support and partial funding to make these scholarship awards possible. $2,500 in Scholarship Awards from the Mid Atlantic Equitation Festival

In keeping with the spirit of serving the equestrian community, the 2014 Mid Atlantic Equitation Festival (MAEF) is offering two separate Scholarship Awards:

  • One Scholarship for the Public
  • One Scholarship for Exhibitors

The $1,000 Maryland Horsemanship Endowment Scholarship Award

Including special prizes for Runner–up awards

We are grateful for the support and partial funding from the Maryland Horse Industry Board. This scholarship is open to all equestrian enthusiasts from any and all disciplines (4-H, Pony Club, IEA, IHSA, dressage, eventing, western and breed enthusiasts), including exhibitors at the Mid Atlantic Equitation Festival, upon submission of the Scholarship Registration form and registration fee available on this website after 9/1/2014.

Candidates with the top scores from a written exam offered on Friday, November 14, 2014 (between 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm), will participate in a practical demonstration of horsemanship knowledge and expertise on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

Candidates are to be between the horse show age (age as of December 1, 2013) of 14 to 25 years old. High school students are encouraged to apply and the scholarship award will be held in escrow. The scholarship will be distributed upon acceptance and enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational school.

The award will be used solely for educational purposes and will be made payable to the educational institution for the student.

Registration prior to October 1, 2014, Pony Club & 4–H Members – $40

Registration on or after October 1, 2014 – $50

Registration opens September 1, 2014

The $1,500 Mid-Atlantic Equitation Festival Scholarship

Including special prizes for Runner–up awards

This scholarship is open to exhibitors in the competition upon submission of the Scholarship Registration form available on this website after 9/1/2014.

There is no registration fee for this award.

The award will combine the results of the written exam offered on Friday, November 14, 2014 (between 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm), with their top two riding scores from the first two days of competition at the Mid-Atlantic Equitation Festival, November 14 & 15, 2014.

Candidates must be an exhibitor in one of the MAEF Finals classes and are to be between the horse show age (age as of December 1, 2013) of 14 to 25 years old. High school students are encouraged to apply and the scholarship award will be held in escrow. The scholarship will be distributed upon acceptance and enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational school.

The award will be used solely for educational purposes and the award will be made payable to the educational institution for the student.

United States Hunter Jumper Association Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Study Guide. The study guide is available for download at the USHJA website.

United States Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship. Visit the US Pony Club website.

Acceptance of the scholarship awards constitutes permission for the Mid Atlantic Equitation Festival to use recipient’s name, biographical information, and pictures for publicity purposes.
